As I’m writing this article now, the flash flood in KL is alarming. Thus to all commuters out there please be careful and wait for emergency assistance if you’re stuck in the flood.
As a matter of fact, there were multiple videos shared on social media showing the flood situation. At this time, many vehicles are under water and drivers had to climb onto the car roof to get to safety.
Water rose up quickly near Kuchai MRT
As can be seen above, the car that got stuck on the road was at the height of its head light. Those that were park inside seems to be safe for the moment.
However, after an hour later you can see that no vehicle is safe. At this instant, the water had risen to cover the top of that stuck vehicle and water has overflow into the parking area.
Generally the entire outer and inner road is completely flooded. The whole road is looking like a river now.
KL open air car park flooded
In other reports of flash flood in KL, the car park near Pavillion and Hakka Restaurant is also flooded. Generally all the vehicles park there is submerge under water. Water that rose to the height of the window, drowning the car engine as well.
Vehicle stand still on highways and roads
KL Seremban Highway and a few other roads in KL is on a stand still situation due to the flash flood. Even though emergency rescue personnel has been deployed, the jam made it almost impossible for them to reach on time.
Info traffic alert on 07/03/2022 at 5pm stated jam near Jalan Klang Lama and Jalan Syed Putra. Besides that, Jalan Genting Klang, Jalan Istana, KL Seremban Highway, Lebuhraya Mahameru and MRR2 is also on a stand still situation.
The weather is getting unpredictable and with this in mind, we hope the government could focus on anti-flood projects soon. Finally, we hope that all of you out there to have some patience and get home safely.
